MOVED

I am on a roll. I’ve moved to Blogspot. I can find people so much easier on there – sorry, WordPress. I’ll come back to you eventually.

For now, I’ll be at:

One Two three Four, United States Marine Corps

My internet at home is an idiot, so I deeply apologize for not posting as much. On top of that, I think I might be moving this blog to Blogspot — I can’t figure out how to make my blog pretty on here. :( No worries, WordPress, I’ll be back to visit you when August rolls around, I have high-speed internet, and I am a Purdue Admissions Blogger! (Still so pumped for that – as is my family – they get to stalk me now without calling all of the time! haha!)

Anyway, I just got back from the gym. I’ve been going around five times a week, now. This week, I’ve really put it into full speed. Today and Tuesday, I ran four miles at a pretty consistant 12:00. Not fast, but like I said – they were pretty steady. Today HURRRRRRRRRT…but I had a new soundtrack :) I downloaded Run to Cadence with the United States Marine Corps. Not only did it remind me of my favorite Marine in Japan :) , it was hella motivating. Ooh rah. I hit a mental block at 4 miles – tomorrow, I’m over it. Five miles or bust. Go me!

Aside from that . . . I’ve been pretty boring. No exciting plans for the Fourth of July, which isn’t a huge deal. I do love that holiday though. *Mental Note: wish Anna (my favorite underclassmen & BFF) a happy birthday on Saturday*

That’s it for today. Promise I’ll update better — maybe Blogspot will do me well :)

ps – How ’bout them Red Sox? :)

My Bad

Upon reading my last post, my friend & confidante Brock told me I didn’t cite my sources correctly. Let me pause to do so:

“Wallow in self-pity” was a direct quote from Brock.

Thanks, much better.

Today, I went to my BFF Mark’s house. We had a typical summer afternoon — the same things that we have been doing for 13 years. Gosh, I love that kid. We chatted it up, layed by the pool, chatted it up some more, got into the hot tub until it felt like we were going to pass out, then totally crashed. We watched Taken – seriously awesome movie!

I’m starting a detox diet tomorrow. It should last for oh, 3 days…or 3 hours. :]

Off to listen to some more MJ. Speaking of which — I rarely have “heard it wrong” moments, but I had one today. I was obnoxiously singing “Billie Jean,” and Mom informed me that it isn’t “Billie Jean is at my door.” No, no. “Billie Jean is not my lover.” Much better. My bad. :)

GYM TOMORROW! <3 yay

Shopping Is So Much More Reliable Than A Boyfriend.

I went on a typical Mom-Aunt-Sara shopping trip today. Oh, how I love them. Instead of wallowing in self-pity about my love life (or lack thereof) or sulking over not having any Fourth of July plans, I bought happy emotions again. Life is good.

On my little extravaganza, I got a new Coach purse (ohhhh yeaaaah), a skirt from Tommy Hilfiger, a new bathing suit (they’re on sale at Old Navy!), and…actually, that might be it. Oh my gosh. I only got three things?!? I must go back. :)

Let me share with you my story from yesterday. I went to the bank to transfer money from my savings account (which has $100 more than I thought!) into my checking account. Well, I went to do so, and it told me NO. The ATM took my money. The bank stole from me. Actually, Mom told me that I would have to set up that feature on my card — but still…they took my money.

Brother and I went to see UP in 3D yesterday. I highly reccomend it. It is in my Top 5 favorite Disney movies, most definitely. Probably Top 3. Amazingness!

I need a midnight snack. BFF date with Mark tomorrow. Lots of sunshine! Yay!

Have a lovely, sunny day!

Hott With Two T’s

Oh goodness, is it smokin’ hot outside! I’m terribly sorry for not updating the past few days. The internet at home has been a total creeper, plus I have been super busy! Let’s chat about what has been going on.

I went to Purdue to schedule my classes yesterday. Thanks to my amazing advisor, Natalie, I was gone by 1 – which is actually a sad thing. I saw my dorm, AMAZINGGGGGGG. Sorry, I get excited :) And, oh yes, I have zero 7:30 classes. Hallelujah. Roomie Elli and I are shopping online and life is looking good. Did I mention I don’t have any 7:30′s?

I am finally feeling better. To tell you the truth, I think I had scarlet fever. I know it sounds crazy, but I diagnosed myself online and cured it with Listerine, apple cider vinegar, and a four-day date with my couch. Now, I’m mucho better and I went back to the gym today! Yay! I had missed it so very much.

I thought I had something else to share . . . maybe not. The weekend is looking like a pretty good one. OH! I remember – I cleaned my room like crazy yesterday and rolled $40 in change. hahahahaha. I’m taking my ten pounds of change to the bank tomorrow and smiling real big. :) Anyway, tomorrow, I’m going to see UP with my brother – the 3D version! Saturday, we’re reigniting the shopping trio of myself, my mom, and my aunt. We’re heading to the outlet mall in Tuscola. Jackpot :) (That’s what reminded me of my change rolling – more spending money!) And, on Sunday, me and BFF Mark are going to St. Mary of the Woods’ campus with his mom for brunch (I think) and to take pictures. Then, back to his house to “lounge by the pool.” So excited.

That’s all for now. I’ll update with pictures soon, hopefully!

Enjoy the day!

xoxo

Au Revoir, Europe!

MY BEST FRIEND COMES HOME TONIIIIIIIIIIIGHT! :) He’s been in Europe for, gosh, way too long. We’re having a movie day & I am making him get Twitter. I might take pictures of us – bonding. haha.

I’ve been super sick, so I apologize for the lack of updates. Seriously, the last few days have been me. Laying on my couch. Coughing. Trying to swallow. haha. So precious, so precious.

That’s all I’ve got today. So exciting, I know.

Happy Father’s Day!

CRAZY WEEK.

Yep, the title deserved all caps. It’s been that nuts. I’d like to tell you about everything, but that would take forever, so here are some highlights of my last State FFA Convention.

1) Meeting Chris Kramer. My Purdue basketball husband-to-be was in Steak-n-Shake. We got our picture together and fell in love =]

2) Meeting Paul Moya, the National FFA President. We had dinner together on Tuesday – such a great guy!

3) Punking my ‘rents somethiing fierce. I went to a tattoo parlor and got pictures that seriously looked like I was getting, uh, ink’ed. hahahaha. Not only did I get them – I also got half of Facebook =] you guys are suckers!

4) I’ve Got A JOB! Definitely will be working as an Admissions Blogger this year. So exciting, such a crazy awesome perfect opportunity for me! yay!

5) I’m wretchedly sick right now. One swollen tonsil is about ready to get it. But I will not go to the doctor! Nope, not this girl. =] Instead, I’ll just lounge on my couch ’til the cows come home.

Off to nap. Adios!

What A Weekend!

Holy cow. What a great weekend! Every day feels like the weekend, since it’s summer – but this was an exceptionally good three days.

Friday was a usual B-Dubs date with my little brother. Then, we went shopping. Yikes. I’m totally serious when I say that I am starting to believe that I have a shopping problem. It’s getting rediculous. I need to find a support group, like, ASAP. In the evening, Mom and I got our nails done – our bi-weekly date that I will miss so very much when August arrives!

I HIT 200 FOLLOWERS ON TWITTER. Sorry, I got a little excited about it. :)

Saturday, Saturday, Saturday. Oh! Queen pageant brunch for the fair. I’m so ready to get this pageant season on the road! :) I spent the day in Terre Haute with Anna — we went to see The Hangover. Probably the raunchiest movie I have watched in quite a while, but let me tell you – it was hysterical. I laughed so hard I cried. It felt good. Worked out, you know, the usual. I love that gym! I came home and watched He’s Just Not That Into You and Top Gun – two of my favorites – and went to bed early. Niiiice.

Today was a pretty generic day. Mom and I went grocery shopping and to lunch, then I baked myself in 7500 watts of UV rays for fifteen minutes, hahaha. I wasn’t looking forward to going to the gym, but I went anyway — dressed exceptionally un-cute, might I add. Yesterday, I matched and even had a bow in my hair and I was the only one there. Today, I still matched, but my hair was not-so-glamorous, and naturally, it was full of nice, attractive, young guys. haha. Such is my life :)

Now, I’m packing for State FFA Covention, which is this Monday-Wednesday. I’m glad it’s over, to tell you the truth. FFA has been a big part of my life buuuuut, that chapter has closed. Onto PURDUE! :) yay yay yay yay yay.

I will be sure to update about State Convention…hopefully I have wifi at the hotel. Of course, the last hotel we stayed at for an FFA function had no wifi, no cell phone service, no in-room mini fridge. Talk about a hellacious experience. :)

Have a great week!

Shopping. Starbucks. Sweat? :)

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. That’s my sigh of exhaustion after a crazy day at the gym. I have this feeling that I’m becoming one of those workout-a-holics. You know, the kind on TV with their matching outfits and the perky peppy voice (I’ve got that down already, I think). I would live at the gym if at all possible. Next year at Purdue? Helloooooo, co-rec!

Today was busy, but full of my favorite things in the whole wide world. Like…
–FFA Practice. It went so well – a nice confidence boost before State. We also had a very serious discussion about Twitter, and my addiction to social media sites. I believe the quote that summed it all up was, “I don’t know anyone who gets more texts from social networking sites than you.” (Shannon). So funny, guys.
–SHOPPING. My name is Sara, and I am a shopping addict. I’m serious. It is becoming a problem. Every time I go to Terre Haute, I have to go to the mall. Today, I bought Gap shorts (on sale!), a pair of sunglasses for my brother (not on sale –glare–), and lots of goodies at Bath & Body Works (MASSIVE sale!)
–Starbucks. Yep, caramel macchiato at 2PM before a workout is much more enjoyable than a caramel macchiato at 8PM. I finally came to my senses.
–Sweating. I had to keep up with the S-Theme (Ok, except for FFA). I spent about an hour and a half at the gym today, and loved every minute. I probably would have stayed longer but my iPod died. I’m convinced that, once my iPod shuts off, it’s time to stop my workout. So I did! :)

Best wishes to Indiana FFA State Officer Candidates, and above all, my best friend Travis! They have a weekend full of tough interviews and team activities ahead of them, but I fully believe that the nominating committee will pick the right people for the job! Best of luck, guys (especially Trav — I’m a little biased! haha)

That sums it up for today, I think. Oh, Mom and I went on our usual date to the nail studio – tonight, a big burly guy was getting a pedicure. I laughed, but seriously commend his confidence to walk into a girly place with his wife & not complain! Snaps! :)

By the way, since Twitter is all about #FollowFriday, here’s one for the blog world. My friend Jamie is an intern in Washington, D.C. and her blog is full of her daily adventures, which are super exciting! Enjoy every minute, Jamie! http://jamielsteiner.blogspot.com/

Have a super weekend – chat with you later! :)

The Way Summer Is Meant To Be

Oh, these last few days have reminded me just how spectacular summer is!

Yesterday was surprisingly great. I really didn’t feel like going to a scholarship luncheon, so I was grumbling during the drive there. When I walked in, I was a bit early, and was lucky enough to sit in a nice restaurant with — get this — the satellite radio station Siriusly Sinatra playing. In case you don’t know, Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin are two of my favorite singers, so I was basking in the few minutes I had to relax. I watched the rain fall through the huge windows around the room, listened to my favorite music, and found a much better attitude in the process. After that, lunch was great! I got to catch up with one of my friends that I haven’t seen since graduation, as well as meet someone else who will join me at Purdue this fall. It was a very nice way to spend a rainy afternoon!

My brother’s game went well. I was disappointed that tonight’s game got rained out — yesterday turned out to be the last game of the season that I will get to see. It ended on a great note, though. He ended up playing second base for the first time, and did great! Hopefully it becomes his official spot on the field — he is still talking about it. Just another instance of finding your passion and pursuing it — the kid is a baseball fanatic! Speaking of baseball (of course), my Red Sox swept the Yankees tonight. You can’t wipe the smile off of my face.

Also, I have a new amazing opportunity that might get thrown my way! A friend of mine texted me yesterday and said that, if I was interested, she could put in a good word for me at C-SPAN. Their archives are at Purdue, and they need student workers. How exciting is that?! A random opportunity that I hope to pursuse in the second semester. Keep your fingers crossed!

Tomorrow looks to be another busy day. FFA practice in the morning (state convention is next week, thank goodness!), and then Brother and I are going to get lunch somewhere. Mom and I have a date in the evening to get our nails done – we’re long overdue!

Whatever the day brings you, I hope it is full of blessings!

All About Sara Spelled Without An “H.”

My Mommy and I I was a Facebook addict, now I'm a bitter pageant girl. If given the chance, I'll talk your ear off with pointless stories and corny jokes. I love without fighting, give without taking, and forgive without forgetting. I am convinced that, one day, I will have arthritis from my addiction to texting and my feet will be stuck in their pageant stance forever. To sum it all up, life is an occasional test of faith, but it never lacks in beauty, grace, and magnificence -- and I wouldn't change it for anything.
